- Women’s Prayer Breakfast – 3rd Saturday in March A women’s devotional that brings together women of faith to encourage one another. With prayer and devotion as the focus, a prayer breakfast also allows the Women of Mount Pleasant (WOMP) to celebrate and honor the special bond between all women. Celebration and gratitude for such a bond serves to renew the mind, body and spirit.
- Women’s Day – 2nd Sunday in July Women’s Day recognizing the WOMP with a schedule of events which culminates on the 2nd Sunday in July. There are opportunities to serve the community and church. A women’s choir is developed to sing praises to God for his many blessings.
- Susan G. Komen Washington D.C. Race for the Cure
- Each year the WOMP come together to walk support one another and raise money for research to help in the fight against breast cancer.
- Free Market – Since 2004 Free Market Day has been a fun filled interactive day with our local community. On the 3rd Saturday in August, we gather on the MPBC lawn to show God’s love through giving. MPBC cheerfully provides items of every kind, free to all public shoppers. While the Free Market serves all, we target those who are in need, such as the homeless, transitional facilities, and anyone in the community. We have also supplied old cell equipment to be refurbished for victims of domestic violence. Our Kitchen Ministry provides a light meal for all. Our Children’s Ministry provides back packs and school supplies. We consider Free Market Day a church-wide service opportunity for all MPBC ministries. (Matthew 25:40)
